Tim's at 'Uni' right now so he can't be with us on this fine February afternoon. Wayhay... it's the year 2000! This heralds a new era for Ellipse! We are doing much planning for this summer when everything will go off. Man. Including the fresh fruit we bought this morning. Our gigs will be a spectacular experience of noise and lights. And cameras... And action. All will be invited. There will be much merriment, feasting, cramming into small spaces and unveiling of new, exciting material. Also on the agenda is the recording of new songs to go with the two which we recorded in the summer. (Misunderstood and Drama queen). This will be sold for extortionately high prices at gigs and stuff. We also have a world stadium tour, starting in September at Kilsby village hall, planned.

REVIEWS, BY A. SURVIVOR: All the Ellipse gigs I have been to have been most excellently executed. I actually caught one of the heads that rolled off the stage! One of the strongest aspects of their set is the barnstorming number, 'Misunderstood'. (Sung in a big, black, blues singer style). Fatalities were Surprisingly lower than normal at the Brooke School gigs. Probably because Ben's chainsaw was banned that time. Ellipse really shone like a crazy diamond in their slower numbers. Many lighters were waved... By the children. When the fire brigade had calmed the flames, Ellipse carried on with a cute acoustic set on the lawn, with clotted creams teas (or coffee if preferred).

The Sheriff Sessions were not quite as tame. Some people got rather too excited, verging on silliness. Luckily Lewy still has one arm intact, after 2 months in intensive care. There was lots of stage diving and we told it not to do it in the future as it makes it really difficult to concentrate on the playing. On the musical side, Ellipse weave a complex variety of multi-layered textures and cross-rhythms. The pieces vary in key centers, often slipping into modes. One notable example is the switch to the aolian mode during 'Caged (Boy/girl)'. Keep rocking boys!
