Ellipse were formed in 1995 but the line-up has changed since then with the addition of a new bass player. Our first gig was the Lawrence Sheriff School barn dance supporting a folk band! Since then we have gone from strength to strength and back again and now I think we're pretty damn cool. Our other performances include three 'Sheriff sessions', some showcases at Brooke school and an Easter concert...wahoo. We are members of Depot studios in Coventry and recorded a CD there last summer. Hopefully it'll be on sale by summer 2000.

Here is a bit about each of us:

Vocals-Nathan (Codman) Bettany.

"I've been singing ever since I was an ickle boy (2 years), and I've been playing keyboardy type things since I was six.

After we've been famous for a bit I want to be a music therapist. I like writing, 'The Godfather', noise, the oboe and Mr. Barnett. I also like lying in my boudoir, burning joss sticks and thinking about life and stuff. Man."

Guitar-Ben ("I am moving") James

"I've been living ever since I was born. I must get out of my crisp packet more... while I'm on the move. I've recently been playing the guitar like Jimi Hendrix... in my head, although it's been very crowded in there. I like the view from my ward and all the inmates are very pleasant. This gig in the hospital seems to go on for ever. I don't like hospital food as they always give it me in needles. I must go now to get out and eat some more blue...."

Drums-Richard (technical director) Lewis.

"I've been playing kit  for over 7 years. I joined the band two weeks before our first gig and have been in it ever since.

Other than flailing wildly at the kit I particularly enjoy being asleep, riding into telegraph poles at high speed and indulging my sci/tech junkie nature."

Bass-Tim Rundle (The Professor).

I've been playing for about 3 years now and joined ellipse about 6 months after starting. The highlight of being in the band for me were the gigs we've done and going to the recording studio.
